The Caribbean, a paradise for sailing

Warm and turquoise blue waters, coastal navigation from island to island, steady winds and weather, here are the main points to make the Caribbean ideal for sailing.

The West Indies can be divided into three navigation areas: the Grenadines in the south can be easily reached from Martinique with a short call at Sainte-Lucie at the foot of the famous Two Pitons or at Saint-Vincent. The Virgin Islands in the North, very much appreciated by Anglosaxons, very near Saint Martin and Saint Barthelemy islands. Halfway there are the islands of Guadeloupe , Marie-Galante , the Saintes. Nearby are Dominica and its 365 rivers, Antigua and Barbuda with as many beaches of cristal white sand.

These are three very good reasons to sail along our islands and their so many attractive spots. Pleasures and enjoyments are awaiting you here such as farniente in the various moorings or diving to discover the rich fauna of the coral reefs.

Regatta fans will be able to compete with the local crews in the winter only dressed in shirts and shorts in the many regattas organized around here: the mythic Antigua Sailing Week, the famous Heineken Regatta of Saint Martin as well as the Easter Regatta of Bequia or the Round Guadeloupe race, not to mentions the Carnival Regatta in which parties and friendliness are always present.

Sportsmen won’t be forgotten, who will find turquoise blue flat lagoons to practice kitesurf or windsurf, golf courses on many islands, coastal walks overlooking the sea and a great number of paths in the forests of Dominica, Guadeloupe and Martinica.

Music fans will enjoy the Jazz Festival of Sainte Lucie, Creole Blues festival at Marie-Galante or the World Creole Music festival of Dominica.
